This subject was sketched directly onto the canvas from life during a lunchtime picnic next to the creek. Some of the buildings were superimposed later from early photographs. The Thames barges were there at the time of the picnic and similar ones in the old photographs. The artist decided to paint this scene set in moonlight.  This painting is now in a private collection.
