A commissioned painting in the style of James Buttersworth. Dauntless was bought in 1881 by Caldwell H. Colt of Colt Revolver fame. She is shown sailing in a New York YC race, in the lead is the white hulled ‘Magic’ which took part in the first defence of the America’s Cup in 1870.
